The site features podcasts made by students in French 327, a seminar on French literature, culture, and society during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. In each podcast, a team of students discusses one or more literary texts in order to understand the social tensions that lie behind the era's literature. Each team makes reference to various aspects of French society at this time–the hierarchical organization of people, the role of the Church and Catholicism, the monarchy and structures of political power, and gender roles and laws regarding marriage and property.
