This Omeka site features the life of Edith Renfrow Smith, '37, Grinnell's first Black alumna and — at 108 — the College's oldest alumnus. Drawing on oral history interviews Mrs. Renfrow Smith has given as well as family photos she has made available to Digital Grinnell and the Poweshiek History Preservation Project, this website provides a visual biography of the namesake of Grinnell's newest student residence, Renfrow Hall.
