This site serves as a digital version of a bulletin board, we call the "Archive Alcove," located in the HSSC (North pavilion, 3rd floor, home to the departments of Art History, English, GWSS, and History), where we post an image of a document, photograph, or artifact each week that offers an interesting glimpse into the history of the college. Sometimes these forays into the archives shed light on important moments or developments at the college, whereas other times they open a window onto smaller, forgotten stories about life at Grinnell over the past century and a half. If you’re on campus, we encourage you to visit the board in person, which is located in a cozy alcove across from the Class of 1998 commons room (there is a map on the "about" page of the website).
